Ullapool is a small fishing village in the North West Highlands of Scotland. In March 2013 we are holding a festival of dance with something to suit everyone.
Hip Hop, Latin, Indian, Jazz, Contemporary, Breakin’, Charleston, Disco – there are no boundaries!
Workshops for beginners; stunning professional performances; something for all ages from babies upwards!
For all abilities; for people who have never danced and for experienced dancers too.
For people who just love to watch dancing.
Dance in North West Schools
The festival comes to you! Ullapool Dance Festival tutors are travelling to schools all over Wester Ross and West Sutherland from Gairloch to Durness in the two weeks from Feb 25th – March 8th. Ask at your school for details.

Do You Nomi?
Do You Nomi? is a dynamic new dance theatre production by actor/director, Grant Smeaton and choreographer/dancer, Alan Greig. Slick dance with thought provoking text, lighting and music in a fast-paced show.
Do You Nomi? will reflect the life of Klaus Nomi and his rise to fame in the New York avant garde scene of the 70s and 80s – his wonderful operatic voice, his unique singing talent and his extraordinary persona -visual, strange, funny, weird. Adult themes make this recommended for ages 14+.

Capoeira
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that makes a ritual of movements from martial arts, games, and dance.
Or why not try a Capoeira Class? It’s free for ages 10- 19. We’ve brought Fraser MacDonald – a master tutor of this beautiful and exciting Brazilian fight/dance accompanied by music – as a guest for a special 2 hour session at the regular Thursday class held by Cameron’s School of Martial Arts at Lochbroom Leisure Centre. Thur 7th March 6 – 8pm. See Fraser at the start of the video below.
