Fraser MacDonald performs Capoeira

Capoeira  (pron. Cap-o- air-a) is a Brazilian art form combining ancient martial art moves with music and dance.  It is graceful, lively and exciting to watch.    It involves energetic, at times acrobatic, quick and complex moves, using mainly power, speed, and leverage for leg sweeps.

It was created in Brazil mainly by descendants of African Slaves with Brazilian native influences, probably beginning in the 16th century.

Check out this great video which starts with some wildly athletic jumps then goes on to show the beautiful movements in the ‘dance’.
